Hey, Founder. Nice to meet you!
I’m Lauren. “Camille” happens to be my middle name.
I’m the founder of Camille Outside The Box – a strategy blog written for early-stage startup founders, mostly within the SaaS space. I also feature suggested technology platforms, mindset advice, and startup spotlights to highlight businesses gaining traction.
Overall, I help startup founders think outside of the box and get their ideas out into the world through creative thinking and strategic solutions.
As for me, I”m a proud Oregonian and a graduate of Ohio University. I graduated cum laude in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Nutrition. (You’re like, wait, hold up here.) However, after working with businesses and startups, and connecting with small businesses seeking help through social media, I knew in my heart that a future in nutrition wasn’t my path.
I’ve been doing remote consulting work for startups for 4+ years now. I got my start as a lead integration project manager with a federal network security consulting company outside of Washington D.C. Through the years, I have been heavily involved throughout every process in the startup journey from fundraising, pitching, cold outreach, software quality assurance testing, and feature/design scoping, to email lists, blog management, website copy, SEO tactics, PR, social media strategy, and more. You name it, and it was a task I worked on. I currently work as a Director of Operations for a leadership development startup in Beaverton, Oregon, as well as a Communications Lead for a property management startup in Ashburn, Virginia.
Over the last year, I’ve received countless questions and messages from startup founders. I’ve translated the answers to these pressing questions into blog posts. In the last 6 months alone, I’ve been featured on three podcasts for my business development journey and coaching focus – as well as on Aware Now, Growth Hackers, Databox, and Medium.
My passion is helping others get their ideas off of a crumpled cocktail napkin and attracting customers.
That’s where my coaching and blog come into play. I help others develop their ventures and ideas by sharing the tips that I learned from big-name leaders, research, partnerships, and – most importantly – by implementation in the real world.
Besides my startup work, I love nothing better than iced caramel coffee, kayaking, cooking Thai food, ax throwing, and traveling the world (My favorite spots are Thailand, Hungary, and Austria.), I also love connecting with fellow self-starters and startup founders (is that you?).
Let’s continue the conversation, Founder.
